Maurico Isla 'never considered Juventus return'

Chilean wing-back Mauricio Isla rubbishes suggestions that he is looking to cut short his loan spell with Queens Park Rangers and return to parent club Juventus.

Mauricio Isla has insisted that he is not looking to cut short his loan spell at Queens Park Rangers and return to Juventus.

Reports earlier this month claimed that the Chilean was hoping to be recalled from his season-long loan deal by the Old Lady after failing to settle in England.

However, the 26-year-old has claimed not to have been in contact with Juventus since arriving at Loftus Road and is enjoying the chance to play regularly after a frustrating couple of seasons on the sidelines.

He said in the Evening Standard: "That was never going to happen. People talk but I've never spoken about it. I've not spoken to a single director at Juventus since I came to England, not even to the coach there, Massimiliano Allegri.

"It is important for me to stay here a long while because I need to get match fitness back after the cruciate knee ligament injury I had [while playing for Udinese in 2012]. After playing so many games for Udinese, it was a bit of a sad situation at Juventus.

"Because of the injury and other reasons, I didn't play all that much for Juve. On the other hand, I'm playing regularly here, so I'm really happy about it."

Isla made his seventh Rangers appearance in their 2-0 Premier League win over Aston Villa on Monday.
