Juventus's remaining fixtures ahead of Serie A restart

Ahead of Serie A's restart this weekend, Sports Mole looks at the remaining fixtures facing defending champions and current league leaders Juventus.

Juventus, looking for their ninth successive Serie A title, return to action on Monday evening when they make the trip to mid-table Bologna.

Aided by having played two fixtures in the Coppa Italia, Juventus will hope to be up to speed as they look to defend their one-point advantage over nearest challengers Lazio.

The enforced break due to the coronavirus pandemic has enabled Maurizio Sarri to take stock after witnessing his team win just one of their last three games in all competitions before football was suspended.

In comparison to other teams, Juventus have a favourable early schedule with lowly Lecce and Genoa to follow their opening encounter.

Nevertheless, the next triple-header throws up tougher challenges as a showdown with neighbours Torino is followed by meetings against European-chasing AC Milan and Atalanta BC.

After a visit to Sassuolo comes a home contest with second-placed Lazio, who will hope to remain in close proximity to the leaders ahead of their trip to Turin on July 20.

Sarri will be happy with the next three outings coming against Udinese, Sampdoria and Cagliari Calcio, teams who all find themselves in the bottom half of the standings.

However, with a concluding fixture versus Roma, Sarri and his players cannot afford any complacency if they wish add more silverware to their ever-growing collection.
