Huddersfield Town manager Chris Powell praises Emyr Huws impact

Huddersfield Town manager Chris Powell praises the impact of on-loan Wigan Athletic midfielder Emyr Huws after the 21-year-old's fourth goal in three games for the Terriers.

Huddersfield Town manager Chris Powell has praised the impact made by Emyr Huws since he joined the Terriers on loan from Wigan Athletic in August.

The 21-year-old scored the equaliser in a 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest on Thursday night for his fourth goal in three games which have reaped seven points for Powell's side.

"It's self-explanatory really with his name up in lights not once, not twice, but four times and he's still working his way to fitness. When a new player joins a club, whether on loan or permanently, you want to make your mark early - and I think he's done that," Powell told reporters regarding Huws's impact.

The man in charge of the Terriers also reserved praise for captain Dean Whitehead's influence on Wales international Huws.

"Dean Whitehead has been imperious for us in this run and even before that," he added. "He's leading by example and allowing our players to really express themselves.

"Emyr has benefited from that and if we can get him on the ball more he can come up with, not only crosses and passes, but goals like this evening."

Huddersfield remain in 13th position in the Championship table following the home draw with Forest.
