Dan Burn clarifies Manchester United quotes

Fulham defender Dan Burn clears up his recent comments comparing Manchester United to a Conference team following Sunday's 2-2 draw at Old Trafford.

Fulham defender Dan Burn has clarified his comments comparing Manchester United to a Conference team following Sunday's 2-2 draw at Old Trafford.

Burn said after the Premier League clash that he hadn't headed that many crosses away from the penalty area since playing in the lower leagues, suggesting that United had one-dimensional tactics.

However, the 21-year-old has now claimed that he did not mean to disrespect the champions for their style of football.

"I didn't mean that quote to sound as disrespectful as it's been reported," he told the club's official website.

"There were a lot of crosses, statistically more than any game since stats started, so I just joked that I hadn't headed as many balls since the Conference.

"It was a deluge of pressure, and I was just glad I could get on the end of some of them and we were all relieved to get a point."

Fulham continue their Premier League campaign on Wednesday when they entertain Liverpool at Craven Cottage.
