Dundee boss Barry Smith believes that his side can stay in the SPL, despite Friday's 2-0 defeat at home to Ross County.

Dundee boss Barry Smith has claimed that his side still has a chance of staying in the Scottish Premier League, despite Friday's 2-0 defeat at home to Ross County.

The Dark Blues' 17th defeat of the season means that they are now 14 points from safety.

"Until it's mathematically impossible we will never say never and keep going for all the points we can get," said Smith.

"It's becoming more difficult by the week but we just have to try and give ourselves any chance of staying up we can get."

Dundee continue their battle for survival next Friday when they travel to Aberdeen.
