Eden Hazard: 'Chelsea must learn from 2015-16 season'

Chelsea forward Eden Hazard hopes that his side can learn from two seasons ago when following up their previous Premier League title defence with a 10th-place finish.

Eden Hazard has confessed that there are parallels between this season and two years ago as Chelsea struggle to defend their Premier League title, but believes that lessons can be learned.

The Blues experienced an alarming drop-off in form after lifting the top-flight crown under Jose Mourinho in 2014-15, finishing the following season just inside the top half.

Mourinho lost his job due to his side's struggles, just seven months after taking them all the way to the title, and Hazard admits that there are similarities this time around as Chelsea have already dropped points in four of their 10 games.

"It is similar because the year before we won the title and then it is different, it is a little more complicated," he told Sky Sports News. "We just want to play, to be happy on the pitch. I don't see people sad in training. We are all happy, we just want to win games.

"In football when you win games you are happy. Sometimes in bad moments you lose games - people can be a little bit sad but we are professionals. We have the experience from two years ago so now we want to be better."

Hazard will come up against Mourinho once again on Sunday afternoon when Manchester United travel to Stamford Bridge for a huge Premier League clash.
