Filipe Luis content with Chelsea bench

Chelsea left-back Filipe Luis says that he does not mind warming the bench providing that the team is winning.

Filipe Luis has revealed that he is content to warm the Chelsea bench so long as the team are winning.

The left-back has found first-team opportunities hard to come by since his summer move from Atletico Madrid, making one Premier League appearance as the Blues sit top of the table.

However, while Luis acknowledges that the team is of the utmost importance, the Brazilian is still ready to take his chance with both hands when coach Jose Mourinho says so.

He told the Evening Standard: "Everyone wants to play. If you don't, normally you're not happy. But when I came here, I spoke with Mourinho and I knew I'd come to Chelsea to be a champion, not to be the best left-back or best crosser or something.

"When you work with Mourinho, you have to know that the group, the collective is above the individual. I don't think about myself right now.

"The team are doing a great job. We won the first four league games and drew the fifth one. I have nothing to complain about. I have to wait for my chance and when it comes I must make sure I don't go out of the first XI."

The 29-year-old arrived at Stamford Bridge for a reported £16m back in July.
