Harry Kane's record vs. Chelsea

Sports Mole looks at Harry Kane's past record against Chelsea, with Tottenham Hotspur having to make do without their star man this weekend.

Tottenham Hotspur head to Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon for a crucial showdown against Chelsea without their star man.

In a major blow to boss Mauricio Pochettino, leading striker Harry Kane is ruled out of this weekend's match and could miss another handful of games.

Kane was joint-top of the Premier League goalscoring charts prior to hobbling off against Bournemouth earlier this month, having also come out on top in each of the past two seasons.

Here, Sports Mole looks at just how big a loss the Englishman will be in what is a huge game for his side.

Kane vs. Chelsea

One of Kane's finest ever showings in a Tottenham shirt - and there have been a fair few of them over the past four years or so - came in the 5-3 win over Chelsea on New Year's Day 2015, as he scored twice and set up two more.

Other than that, though, the 24-year-old has managed just one more top-flight goal in six encounters with the Blues, with that coming in a 2-2 draw in West London two years ago - a scoreline that officially ended the Lilywhites' title hopes.

Kane also suffered disappointment when last netting in this fixture, scoring a stooping header at Wembley Stadium last season as his side fell to a 4-2 defeat in the FA Cup semi-finals.

While four goals in nine encounters is hardly the worst return, then, the England international's absence may not be felt as much this weekend as Spurs supporters would have initially feared.
