Premier League trio Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Norwich City are reportedly poised to battle it out for the signature of CFR Cluj winger Modou Sougou.

Three Premier League clubs are reportedly poised to battle it out for the signature of CFR Cluj winger Modou Sougou.

The 27-year-old, who has scored one goal in four Champions League appearances this season, is understood to be keen on a move away from Romania in January.

Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Norwich City are all rumoured to be interested in signing Sougou and, according to the Daily Mail, the trio will send scouts to watch him during tonight's match against Manchester United.

The player's current contract expires in June 2015 and it is believed that Cluj may be willing to accept bids in the region of £2m for his services.

Sougou has been capped 11 times by Senegal at senior international level.
