Sean Dyche praises "excellent" Lukas Jutkiewicz

Burnley manager Sean Dyche hails the "excellent" Lukas Jutkiewicz, expecting the 25-year-old to start scoring for the struggling Clarets in due course.

Burnley manager Sean Dyche has praised Clarets striker Lukas Jutkiewicz, claiming that the 25-year-old forward was "absolutely excellent" in their Premier League goalless draw against Sunderland last Saturday.

The Lancashire club have failed to score a goal in 526 minutes of Premier League action, but according to the team's boss, the former Middlesbrough and Bolton Wanderers man will come good in due course.

Dyche told the Lancashire Telegraph: "[Jutkiewicz] was excellent, absolutely excellent [against Sunderland]. He's a player that doesn't do disappointments and we like that in him. He gets on with his job for the team and he is maturing as a player.

"He's been around for a bit but he's not that old and people forget that. He's still learning and I thought he was absolutely top drawer on Saturday.

"He was a real handful and when I was a centre half I wouldn't have enjoyed playing against him, that's for sure. He got six [goals] in pre-season so they are there."

Burnley are currently languishing near the foot of the Premier League table, in 19th place.
