Brisbane Roar confirm interest in Robbie Keane signing

Brisbane Roar's Mark Kingsman says that the A-League club will make an approach to sign former Republic of Ireland forward Robbie Keane.

Former Republic of Ireland international Robbie Keane has emerged as a transfer target for Brisbane Roar.

Earlier this month, it was revealed that Keane would leave Los Angeles Galaxy and a number of clubs around the world were soon linked with the 36-year-old's signature.

A possible destination for Keane is the A-League in Australia, and Brisbane Roar managing director Mark Kingsman has confirmed that his side will bid to sign the forward.

Kingsman told The Age: "When you've got somebody of Robbie Keane's calibre and pedigree, I'm sure every A-League club would be interested. We haven't made an approach yet [but] we will make the call."

Keane has also been linked with clubs in Ireland, England, China and other teams in the MLS.
