Bayern Munich see off Eintracht Braunschweig

Bayern Munich beat Eintracht Braunschweig 2-0 with a strong second-half performance.

Bayern Munich have produced a strong second-half performance to beat Eitnracht Braunschweig 2-0 in the Bundesliga.

The visitors were surprisingly slack in the opening 10 minutes and seemed to be finding the hosts' pressing game difficult to deal with, and as such there were no real openings at the start of the half.

The first genuine effort on goal came on 17 minutes for the hosts, but Omar Elabdellaoui's cross did not get the finish it deserved as Jan Hochscheidt planted a header wide.

Bayern finally started to get themselves on top of the game, but although Arjen Robben got in behind well to shoot, his effort went high and wide on 23 minutes.

It remained fairly end-to-end with shooting very wayward, which was summed up by Mirko Boland's 35-yard free kick that flew well over the bar as the sides went in level.

In the second half it remained fairly even but Bayern started to get on top of the game and were ahead finally on 75 minutes with Claudio Pizarro's 172nd Bundesliga goal. He finished neatly having been played in by Mario Gotze.

Then substitute Mario Mandzukic completed the win four minutes from time as he latched onto a ball over the top and finished through Davari's legs.
