Former Germany international Guenter Netzer insists that there is no pressure on Pep Guardiola when he takes over at Bayern Munich next season.

Former Germany international Guenter Netzer has insisted that there is no pressure on Pep Guardiola ahead of his new role at Bayern Munich.

Guardiola agreed to take over as coach of the Bundesliga giants from the start of next season.

Netzer has claimed that Guardiola will not have to replicate Bayern's previous triumphs to be considered a success in Germany.

Speaking to Bild, Netzer said: "Anyone who believes that it is necessary for Pep Guardiola to replicate Bavaria's heritage is wrong.

"Bayern will be very happy with what they have achieved, but Guardiola will only deal with the here and now. He takes over in any case an intact team."

Bayern are currently top of the Bundesliga and favourites to qualify for the Champions League quarter-finals.
