Roger Schmidt: 'We deserved a draw'

Bayer Leverkusen were worthy of the point that they gained from their 0-0 draw with Bayern Munich, according to head coach Roger Schmidt.

Roger Schmidt has insisted that his Bayer Leverkusen side "deserved" the point that they collected from their home clash with leaders Bayern Munich yesterday evening.

Visiting Bayern dominated the contest at the BayArena in terms of possession and chances, yet it ended 0-0.

Speaking to reporters after the final whistle, Schmidt said: "If you're up against Bayern a draw is good news too.

"At the end of the day I think it was a deserved draw. We managed to keep the ball away from our goal for the most part. We did a good job and we're very pleased."

Next up for Leverkusen is a home clash against Wolfsburg in the DFB-Pokal on Tuesday evening.
