Racing Club set for windfall if Lautaro Martinez joins Barcelona?

Racing Club will allegedly receive a significant windfall if former player Lautaro Martinez leaves Inter Milan for Barcelona later in 2020.

Racing Club are allegedly hoping that Lautaro Martinez leaves Inter Milan for Barcelona this summer.

Since departing the Argentine outfit in 2018, Martinez has scored 25 goals from 66 appearances in all competitions.

Having been left impressed by his progression, Barcelona have reportedly identified Martinez as their preferred long-term replacement to Luis Suarez.

According to Marca, Racing are monitoring any developments after inserting a 10% sell-on clause in the 22-year-old's contract.

With Martinez said to possess a release clause in the region of £92m, Racing stand to receive just over £9m should Barca press ahead with an approach for the player.

The report claims that Liniers, whom Martinez represented for a year at youth level, will also profit from any transfer.
