Atletico Madrid have reached the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey with a 3-0 aggregate victory over Getafe.

The two sides played out a goalless draw in the second leg of their tie at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez on Thursday night, but Atletico's comfortable win last month was enough to put them through through to the last eight of the competition.

Getafe were reduced to 10 men in the first half as Rafa Gomez was sent off for his reckless challenge on Radamel Falcao.

The defender failed to get the ball with his wild lunge and he was duly dismissed by the referee.

Madrid could have taken the lead midway through a quiet second half, but Diego Costa was denied by a heroic block from Miguel Torres.
