George Graham questions Arsenal medical treatment

Following the news that Jack Wilshere will miss the rest of the season, former Arsenal manager George Graham asks questions of the club's medical staff.

Former Arsenal manager George Graham has questioned the performance of the club's medical staff.

Arsene Wenger announced on Monday that Jack Wilshere would miss the rest of the season, having not kicked a ball for the Gunners since suffering a recurrence of an ankle injury in a friendly against New York Red Bulls on July 31.

Per Mertesacker and Mikel Arteta have also been ruled out for the remainder of this campaign, leaving Graham to challenge the club's methods.

He told talkSPORT: "You look back the last few years and look at the injuries. This is probably the first season Robin van Persie is injury free. And Tomas Rosicky.

"Key players have been out for long, long periods. It is something I would have a look at, the medical side of the club.

"What sort of injuries are they? If they are contact injuries, there is not a lot you can do about it but if they are having strains and pulls they have got to have a look at that aspect of the club."

Graham was in charge at Arsenal between 1986 and 1995, winning six major honours.
