Unai Emery: 'Arsenal showed variety in win over Bournemouth'

Manager Unai Emery feels that his Arsenal side showed their variety in seeing off Bournemouth on Sunday afternoon after the Spaniard opted to change the team's formation.

Manager Unai Emery has admitted that the successful switch to a 3-4-3 formation against Bournemouth has provided him with 'more possibilities'.

Emery has used four players in defence for much of his time at the Emirates Stadium, but the Spaniard switched to a three-man backline against the Cherries and it paid off with a 2-1 win being recorded at the Vitality Stadium.

The Gunners boss has acknowledged that Bournemouth pushed his team on the south coast, but feels that his players deserved to prevail against Eddie Howe's outfit.

Emery is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "In 90 minutes we deserved to win. We worked with the system sometimes, it's another possibility and we spoke in the dressing room about how we can be better and control matches. But we have won with another system and we can also do that.

"Bournemouth pushed a lot but I'm very happy with every player and how they worked and it's good for next week. We are going to play another match against a top team like Tottenham."

Arsenal remain in fifth place but now sit just one point adrift of Chelsea in the Premier League table.
