Arsenal team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Chelsea

Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's FA Cup final against Chelsea.

Arsenal head into Saturday's FA Cup final with Chelsea looking to register a record-extending 14th triumph in the competition.

Despite being regarded as underdogs ahead of the quarter-finals, the Gunners have earned impressive victories over Sheffield United and Manchester City respectively.

Having finished in eighth position in the Premier League table, Mikel Arteta's side need to emerge victorious at the weekend to earn a place in next season's Europa League.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal's latest fitness concerns in the days leading up to their final fixture of the campaign.

Hector Bellerin

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: August 1 (vs. Chelsea)

Bellerin has not featured for Arsenal since the semi-final triumph against Man City due to issues with his calf muscles. However, the time spent on the sidelines has put the right-back in a position where he should be included in the squad at the weekend.

Shkodran Mustafi

Status: Out
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: Unknown

During the closing stages of the same game, Mustafi sustained a problem with his thigh. Although it was initially put down to cramp, the German has now been ruled out until October at the earliest.

Gabriel Martinelli

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Martinelli will not feature again this season after undergoing knee surgery last month. The Brazilian has been ruled out until at least 2021, although he will be hoping to return to training before the end of the year.

Bernd Leno

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: August 1 (vs. Chelsea)

Leno has been on the sidelines since sustaining a knee injury against Brighton & Hove Albion on June 20. Although the goalkeeper is back in training, it would come as a surprise if the German dislodges in-form Emiliano Martinez.

Pablo Mari

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: Unknown

Having suffered a significant ankle injury upon the resumption of action, Mari will not be back in contention until the beginning of next season.

Calum Chambers

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Chambers has been absent since the turn of the year after sustaining a serious knee injury. As it stands, the Englishman is building towards a return in either September or October.

ARSENAL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Arsenal have no suspension issues heading into the clash with their city rivals. However, Cedric Soares is cup-tied having previously represented Southampton.
