A deal has been agreed for British welterweight Kell Brook to face American Shawn Porter for the IBF title.
The contest had looked likely to go to purse bids as both camps attempted to negotiate terms, but it has been revealed that the pair will meet in New York City on August 9.
Brook has seen three chances to fight for the world title fall by the wayside after injuries to both himself and Devon Alexander, but after beating Vyacheslav Senchenko in October, the Sheffield fighter made himself mandatory challenger for a second time.
Porter stunned many boxing critics and fans alike with a points win over Alexander in December, and after he displayed his power in stopping Paulie Malignaggi inside four rounds in April, Brook must overcome a stern test if he is to join the current crop of British world champions.
