The in-form LaMarcus Aldridge has helped lead the Portland Trail Blazers to a 111-109 overtime win against the Detroit Pistons at the Palace Of Auburn Hills.
Aldridge scored 27 points in the game, as he increased his average points score against the Pistons to 23.4 points in 15 encounters.
The Pistons had kept themselves well in the game going into the closing stages, thanks to a huge contribution from forward Josh Smith, who added a season-high 31 points for his side.
However, with only a few seconds remaining in overtime and the score level at 109-109, Portland point guard Damian Lillard pulled off a fadeaway shot in the lane to seal the game for the visitors.
The win sees the Blazers sitting in first position in the Northwest Division with a record of 21-4 for the season.
