The Los Angeles Lakers have reportedly contacted the New York Knicks to express their interest in signing Iman Shumpert.
The Lakers are currently without a healthy point guard and although Shumpert is naturally a shooting guard, they are interested in bringing him to the West coast, according to ESPN.
The Knicks, who have started their season 7-16, are said to be keen to trade Shumpert away before February's deadline.
LA are also said to be considering trading away Spaniard Pau Gasol and could speak to the Knicks over a trade for their center Tyson Chandler.
