Donald Sterling: 'I feel fabulous and ready to move on'

Suspended LA Clippers co-owner Donald Sterling says that he "feels very good" ahead of the sale of his team to ex-Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer.

Banned Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling has admitted that it is time to move on, as his sale of the team to former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer nears completion.

The record-breaking $2bn (£1.2bn) deal will be completed by Sterling's wife Shelley, after the NBA approved Ballmer's bid to buy the Clippers last Friday.

Sterling was banned for life for making racist comments at the end of April, meaning the sale of the team was an inevitability before next season.

He told NBC: "I feel fabulous, I feel very good. Everything is just the way it should be, really. It may have worked out differently, but it's good. It's all good.

"I'm OK, I'm OK. Is the NBA OK? I'm not sure about that. Is (NBA commissioner) Adam Silver OK? I'm sure he's OK."

Sterling refused to comment on whether he will move forward with a lawsuit he filed last week against the league, asking for damages in excess of $1bn.
