Houston Rockets beat Portland Trail Blazers in overtime

The Houston Rockets reduce the Portland Trail Blazers' playoff lead to 2-1 following an overtime win.

The Houston Rockets have secured their first win in their playoff series against the Portland Trail Blazers after beating the hosts 121-116 in overtime.

It looked like the visitors had done enough to claim the win in regulation, leading by 11 points midway through the final quarter, but Nicolas Batum led the Portland comeback while James Harden missed a last-gasp shot that would have won it for the Rockets.

The Blazers took the lead in overtime, but Jeremy Lin and Harden found the basket to level the scores, before rookie Troy Daniels hit a three-pointer with 11.9 seconds remaining.

LaMarcus Aldridge scored more than 40 points in the first two games of the series, but Omer Asik prevented him from dominating the game this time around, restricting him to 23.

Game four of the first-round series takes place tomorrow.
