Tom Thibodeau has said that Derrick Rose showed "a lot of toughness" during his performance against the New York Knicks last night.
The Chicago Bulls point guard led the scoring with 18 points during the 82-81 win, including adding the game-winning shot inside the last six seconds, despite struggling with a neck injury.
The team's head coach told ESPN: "He showed a lot of toughness. It was a struggle early on in the game. He found his way at the start of the third, that got him a little lift.
"It's tough when you go into a game and you don't know who you have. That's all part of it. It's the start of the season.
"As long as we are putting everything into each and every day and strive for improvement, it will work out."
The Bulls travel to the Philadelphia 76ers tomorrow.
