Joseph Fauria still looking to adapt to NFL

Joseph Fauria says that he is still "learning how to be in the NFL" despite catching five touchdown passes in his first six league games.

Rookie tight end Joseph Fauria has admitted that he is still getting used to being an NFL player.

The Detroit Lions man caught the eye during a week six victory over the Cleveland Browns, when all three of his receptions resulted in touchdowns.

However since then Fauria's production has slowed down, with just one reception in each of his last two matches for a total of 34 yards.

Fauria told Detroit News: "That game wasn't normal, so abnormal things are expected out of me, which is good. Once my name is called to enter the field, I have to make some plays.

"I have to take into account that even the best, like Calvin Johnson - the best of all time - go through situations where he doesn't get the ball as much.

"My thing is, I am young and still learning how it is to be in the NFL. I am trying to earn my keep, earn that trust to the point where they can call those plays and run them for me."

The Lions currently lead a tight NFC North division with a 6-4 record.
