Armenia off the mark at Baku 2015 with Greco-Roman 66kg silver, Russia take gold

Russian Federation's impressive showing in the Greco-Roman wrestling events at the European Games continues as Artem Surkov takes gold in the men's 66kg.

Artem Surkov has won gold for Russian Federation in the first wrestling medal event on day two of the inaugural European Games.

The 21-year-old claimed a 3-0 triumph against Migran Arutyunyan at the Heydar Aliyev Arena to triumph in the Greco-Roman 66kg in Baku.

Beaten Armenian finalist Arutyunyan had to settle for a silver, which is his country's first medal at these Games.

Bronze was claimed by Hasan Aliyev of host nation Azerbaijan and Slovakian competitor Istvan Levai, who had to battle back to overcome the Ukraine's Denys Dem'yankov.

Russia also won three gold medals in yesterday's Greco-Roman wrestling events.
