Emese Barka wins wrestling gold for Hungary, Norway claim first medal in Baku

Hungary's Emese Barka beats Ukraine's Tetyana Lavrenchuk in the women's 58kg freestyle wrestling at the European Games.

Hungary's Emese Barka clinched gold in the women's 58kg freestyle wrestling at the European Games this afternoon.

Barka held off Ukraine's Tetyana Lavrenchuk to win 3-1 at the Heydar Aliyev Arena in a closely-fought encounter.

Barka had advanced to the final after coming through a tough match, beating Irina Netreba 3-1 in the semi-final, while Lavrenchuk had cruised to a 5-0 win over Turkey's Elif Jale Yesilirmak.

In the bronze-medal matches, Norway's Grace Bullen crushed Netreba 5-0 to pick up her country's first medal, while Yesilirmak was victorious over Anastasiya Huchok.
