Leon Rattigan to fight for bronze after defeat

Leon Rattigan cannot follow wife Yana by reaching a Commonwealth Games final but will now have the chance to wrestle for bronze in the men's freestyle 97kg.

England wrestler Leon Rattigan has valiantly lost in his men's freestyle 97kg semi-final at the Commonwealth Games.

The British number one held his own for long stages before going down 8-4 to India's Satywart Kadian in Glasgow.

Rattigan misses out on the final, but still has a chance of getting on the podium as he will fight in the bronze-medal match against New Zealand's Sam Belkin on Wednesday evening.

The 26-year-old's Ukrainian-born wife, Yana Rattigan, took silver in the women's freestyle 48kg on Tuesday.
