England's Yana Rattigan: 'I wanted gold medal'

Yana Rattigan admits that she is disappointed with her Commonwealth Games silver medal.

Team England's Yana Rattigan has admitted that she is disappointed not to have won a gold medal in the women's freestyle 48kg.

The 27-year-old was in tears at the end of her 11-8 points defeat against Vinesh at the SECC earlier today, where she had to settle for silver.

"There were a couple of moments where this was my match, like in the very first move I did, normally I pin from that move, like I did on the way to the final, but she is so damn good," Rattigan told BBC Sport.

"I am selfish, I wanted the gold, but I have to wait for another time. Every competition is experience, they say it is like two months of training.

"In wrestling, you can win against a strong person and then lose against a person who is weaker than you. The gold goes to the person for whom it all came together the most. I just did not do something right."

Rattigan also won a silver medal at the 2013 European Championships.
