USA's Bode Miller struggling for inspiration

American alpine ski racer Bode Miller admits that he is lacking motivation to impress at the Winter Olympics in Sochi.

American skier Bode Miller has admitted that he is struggling to inspire himself for the Sochi Games.

The 36-year-old, who is considered as one of the best American alpine ski racer of all time, is competing in his fifth Winter Olympics.

"I've kind of been here and done this," the Washington Post quotes him as saying. "Not to take anything away from the Olympics, but it just isn't the same after you've done this as many times as I have."

"I guess maybe perspective and age and stuff, you see the advantages of being not just young but being maybe a little bit more naive and a little bit more excitable. Having that kind of emotional arousal control can be a hindrance sometimes.

"When it's the Olympics and you want to go way past your limits in certain circumstances, so you make sure you do everything you can, I think it can be a hindrance to be in your fifth Olympics with 400-something World Cups behind you. I do get less nervous. I do get less excited."

Miller posted the fastest time during the first training run on Thursday.
