Chuck Berkeley criticises Lolo Jones selection

United States's Chuck Berkeley criticises the selection of Lolo Jones by the US Bobsled Federation saying that it is a "marketing" stunt.

United States's Chuck Berkeley has criticised the decision of the US Bobsled Federation to pick Lolo Jones over Katie Eberling for the two-woman event.

Jones, a former hurdler, was controversially selected ahead of other athletes for the 2014 Winter Olympics despite being only part of the US team since 2012.

She along with teammate Jazmine Fenlator finished 11th out of 19 competing teams, in the first two heats at the Sanki course on Tuesday.

Berkeley wrote on Twitter: "Absolutely no doubt that @KatieEberling would have done better for USA3. Hope the marketing dollars were worth it. #merit #Olympics2014."

Berkeley is not part of the United States bobsleigh team that are competing in Sochi.
