Top-five finish for Great Britain slopestyle skier James Woods

Team GB star James Woods finishes the men's ski slopestyle final in fifth position, with three Americans claiming all of the medals.

Team GB slopestyle skier James Woods has secured a top-five finish at the Winter Olympic Games 2014.

Woods's first run was good enough to score 86.60, but two sit-down landings on each of his runs hindered his chances of winning a medal and a score of 78.40 on run two was only good enough for fifth.

Woods had been battling a hip problem which caused him some concern during the qualifying heat earlier today.

The event ended as a clean sweep for the USA, with Joss Christensen winning gold after a score of 95.80 after just his first run. Despite not needing to improve his score after watching the rest of the field fail to overtake him, Christensen went all out to impress the judges to score 93.80 with his second attempt.

Gus Kenworthy won the silver medal, while Nicholas Goepper took bronze, edging out Norway's Andreas Haaveit.
