UK Sport chief executive Liz Nicholl has reflected on Great Britain's women's curling team triumph as being "history in the making".
Skip Eve Muirhead's side picked up a bronze medal, courtesy of a 6-5 victory over Switzerland earlier today.
It means that Britain will equal their best ever tally of medals at a Winter Olympics, with the men's curling team guaranteed at least silver in their final against Canada tomorrow.
"For them it is due reward for the years of training and preparation they have put in," Nicholl told BBC Sport. "For British winter sport we are witnessing history in the making.
"There's been a record investment of National Lottery and Government funding into British winter sports, and now we have a historic medal haul."
The bronze medal was also Team GB's first in a women's curling final since Rhona Martin won gold in 2002.
