Great Britain skier Andrew Musgrave has admitted that cross-country partner Andrew Young is "disappointed" about having to withdraw from today's classic team sprint event.
Due to medical reasons, Young had to abandon the race at the start of the second leg.
Young has tachycardia, which affects the rate at which the heart beats, though Musgrave says there is nothing the duo could do.
"I think he is probably a little bit disappointed but at the same time there is nothing he can do about it," the 23-year-old told reporters. "He has had it before though and he knows what it is and we just had to stop. We had a chance of qualifying for the final if we had had a good day.
"We definitely had the skis for it and Andrew has been skiing dead good in classic and I am feeling much better today. So I feel we would have had a chance but when something like that happens there is nothing you can do about it."
Germany, Czech Republic, Finland and Russia went on to win the semi-final qualifiers to progress to the final alongside Sweden, Kazakhstan, USA and France.
