Team GB's David Murdoch has 'unfinished Olympic business'

Team GB men's curling skipper David Murdoch claims that he has "unfinished business" with the Winter Olympics after falling short of medals in his two appearances to date.

Team GB men's curling skipper David Murdoch has targeted success in Sochi to claim the Winter Olympic medal that has so far eluded him in his glittering career.

Murdoch is a two-time world champion and three-time European champion, but has come away empty-handed from his two appearances at the Games - in 2006 and 2010.

The Scot is hopeful that he can complete his medal selection in Russia, and also responded to claims from Canada captain Brad Jacobs about Britain's apparently defensive tactics by insisting that they are confident no matter how they approach the ice, which often depends on the quality of their opponents.

"It's exciting to be back, you never know whether you'll get the opportunity again. I've got some unfinished business with the Olympics and hopefully we'll get something from it this time," he told reporters.

He added on Murdoch's accusations: "We've got a lot of different gameplans and it depends who we are playing against. You don't always fight fire with fire. We've different strategies depending on the teams we play and we'll play to our strengths. We know whatever style we play, we'll be confident."

Murdoch was part of the Great Britain team that lost a bronze medal match to the United States in 2006.
