Eve Muirhead: 'We'll need our A game against Sweden'

Team GB women's curling skipper Eve Muirhead concedes that they will have to 'bring their A game' if they are to beat Sweden in their Sochi Winter Olympics opener.

Team GB women's curling captain Eve Muirhead has admitted that they will need to be on top form to beat Sweden in their 2014 Winter Olympics opener in Russia.

They begin their Sochi campaign on Monday in a rematch of November's European Championship final, which was won by Sweden.

"It's a tough opening match playing against the current European champions and they've had a good last few seasons," Muirhead told reporters.

"It is important to get off to a strong start and we'll have to put in a good performance really early on in the week, so I think it's a good thing. The Swedish team are a good rink, they don't have a lot of weaknesses but all the top teams are really solid.

"We'll need to bring our A game, it will be a tight match and it might come down to the last end or the last shot and we're ready for that."

Scotland's Muirhead is the defending world champion having skippered Britain to gold in Riga 2013.
