Amanda Lightfoot "can't wait" to race again following Olympic debut

Great Britain biathlon competitor Amanda Lightfoot says that she is "psyched" to race despite a disappointing Winter Olympic Games debut.

Team GB biathlete Amanda Lightfoot has stated that she cannot wait to compete again, after making her Olympic Games debut in the 7.5km sprint in Sochi.

Lightfoot ended in 75th place having clocked a time of 24:48.9, falling short of the top-60 finish that she needed to qualify for the pursuit.

Missing three range targets proved costly for Lightfoot, but she insists that she remains upbeat heading into the individual event.

She told TeamGB.com: "I will have a bit more of a build up towards the individual now. There will be a bit more training leading up to it and hopefully it will go really well. I am psyched actually; I can't wait for another race.

"It was great, though. Everyone is fully focused at the start and it is just you and yourself getting ready to start the race.

"There is generally no conversation, a couple of good looks here and there but that is generally it."

Lightfoot now turns her attention to another two events, with the 15km individual and 10km pursuit both on the horizon.
