Jenny Jones hopes to inspire Team GB teammates

Team GB snowboader Jenny Jones says that she hopes that her bronze-medal finish at Sochi 2014 has "pumped up" some of her teammates ahead of their own events.

Great Britain's Jenny Jones has stated that she hopes the bronze medal that she picked up on Sunday will provide inspiration for the rest of her country for the remainder of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games.

The slopestyle snowboarder became Team GB's first ever medallist in a snow sport, scoring 87.25 and securing third place.

Following her podium finish, the 33-year-old told TeamGB.com: "I really hope that getting the bronze medal has pumped a few people up.

"I know the freestyle skiing girls were stoked and were all smiles and screams. In the next few days I'm looking forward to supporting those guys.

"I'm really excited to see James Woods and Katie Summerhayes in the ski version of my event. Hopefully it's game on for them now."

Jones appears to be already having an inspiring effect on some of her fellow Britons, with team flagbearer Jon Eley stating as such shortly after her historic performance.
