Team GB snowboarder Dom Harington plays down conditions

Dom Harington refuses to blame the half-pipe conditions for his early exit from the snowboarding competition at the Sochi Games.

Great Britain snowboarder Dom Harington has refused to blame the conditions for his failure to reach the next round of the half-pipe competition at the Sochi Winter Olympics 2014 on Tuesday.

Harington, along with fellow Team GB athlete Ben Kilner, was eliminated from the competition on a bumpy pipe, but he said that was no excuse because all the competitors used the same course.

"I didn't do as well as I hoped," he told Team GB's official website. "I was really nervous on my first run and my legs were like jelly.

"The second was going really well but then I hit a bump and went down and that was it - game over. The conditions are the same for everyone so you can't complain."

Kilner was critical of the half-pipe following his two runs.
