Austria's Daniela Iraschko-Stolz has admitted that it was a "dream" for her to win an Olympic medal after scooping silver in the inaugural women's ski jumping event in the Winter Olympics.
Iraschko-Stolz along with other athletes sued the organisers of the Games in 2010 for gender discrimination for not allowing the jumping event for women. Although they lost the case, the International Ski Federation approved the event for competition in 2011.
"It means so much to me," Iraschko-Stolz told reporters. "I used to dream of winning an Olympic medal. I never thought we would compete in the Olympics. It's like a fairytale to win silver at the first Olympic Games."
Germany skier Carina Vogt won the gold medal, while France's Coline Mattel secured the bronze.
