India's Sukhen Dey has snatched gold in the men's 56kg weightlifting with a total weight of 248kg on the opening night of the Commonwealth Games.
Compatriot Ganesh Mali took bronze, with Zulhelmi Md Pisol of Malaysia claiming silver.
Dey, 25, took the silver medal in Delhi four years ago but went one better at the Clyde Auditorium after posting a 109kg lift in the snatch and then 139kg in the clean and jerk.
Earlier Sanjita Khumukcham and Mirabai Chanu secured India's first medals of the Commonwealth Games with a gold and silver double in the women's under-48kg weightlifting.
