Serena Williams earned a place in round four of the US Open with a straight sets victory over Victoria Azarenka.
The number 28 seed was ruthless in the opening set, using all of her trademark power to dispose of the Russian 6-1.
The second was a far different affair as the number four seed put up a fight, saving four match points to take the set into a tie-break, which Williams won 7-5.
The three-time champion now faces either Ana Ivanovic or Sloane Stephens.
