Result: Victoria Azarenka progresses through in New York

World number five Victoria Azarenka has advanced to the second round of the US Open with a straight sets victory over Johanna Larsson.

The 22-year-old Belarusian controlled the first round match throughout, dropping just four games as she recorded a 6-1 6-3 win at Flushing Meadows.

After beating the world number 64, Azarenka will play Argentina's Gilesa Dulko in the next round.
