Petra Kvitova has eased past Nicole Gibbs in 72 minutes to book her place in the US Open third round.
The world number four held her serve throughout the match on her way to a 6-3 6-4 victory.
Twenty-two-year-old Gibbs had no answer to her more illustrious opponent and was broken in game four of the first set.
The world number 117 survived two break points in the second set, but was unable to cope with Kvitova's serve, winning just 15 points against it throughout the match.
