Donald Young has praised his home crowd at Flushing Meadows for inspiring him to a comeback win over Viktor Troicki in the third round of the US Open.
Troicki took a two-set lead and appeared to be on the verge of victory, but the 26-year-old began his comeback with a win in a third-set tie-breaker.
Young then won the fourth 6-2 before he sealed his place in the last 16 with a 6-4 victory in the deciding set courtesy of a sublime forehand winner down the line.
He told ESPN on the Grandstand Court: "Showing you can fight and come back is a great feeling at the end of the day. It was 90% you guys, 10% me.
"I am so happy to be able to do it in front of you guys, thanks for the support.
"It definitely did [feel a bit like Davis Cup]. I was on the other end of a match like this earlier this year in Scotland against Andy Murray, so to have you guys 100% for me felt amazing."
The American will now face Stanislas Wawrinka in the fourth round of the competition.
