Novak Djokovic proud of Grand Slam record

Novak Djokovic reveals his delight after reaching a 26th successive Grand Slam quarter-final with victory over Roberto Bautista Agut at the US Open.

Novak Djokovic has revealed his delight after extending his run of appearances in Grand Slam quarter-finals at the US Open.

The world number one claimed victory over Roberto Bautista Agut in four sets to reach the last eight at Flushing Meadows, and he admits that it is pleasing to produce his best when it matters as he prepares for a 26th successive Grand Slam quarter-final.

"Well, I'm proud of the fact that I've been able to achieve so much in my career so far and to be able to play my best on the Grand Slams, which I was always aiming for," Djokovic, who has not been knocked out before the quarter-final stage of a Grand Slam since the 2009 French Open, revealed to reporters.

"I'm always trying to set up my form, shape, for these events. This is where I want to peak. These are the tournaments that matter the most.

"I've been able to play consistently well throughout the years and been fortunate to win nine Grand Slams."

Djokovic will meet Feliciano Lopez in the quarter-finals.
