Britain's Johanna Konta has claimed that she is "happy" to have beaten "one of the best" in Garbine Muguruza in the second round of the US Open at Flushing Meadows.
The 24-year-old took almost three-and-a-half hours, which is the longest women's match in the tournament since 1970, to claim a three-set victory over the ninth seed.
It is the first time that Konta has reached the third round at Flushing Meadows in her career.
"I'm happy to be in the next round," Konta told Sky Sports News. "She probably didn't bring her best, but she's one of the best competitors out there so I'm really happy to fight through each point and come out with a win."
Konta will take on 18th seed Andrea Petkovic in the third round.
