American Andy Roddick is far from impressed with tournament officials during his fourth round match against David Ferrer.

Andy Roddick moved through to the US Open quarter-finals but had trouble with his court during the fourth round match with David Ferrer, saying he was "baffled" by the tournament officials' actions.

A small crack behind one of the baselines on the Louis Armstrong stadium was leaking water onto the playing surface, which was a cause of upset for the American.

In a conversation with US Open referee Brian Earley, Roddick said: "Why is [the water] there?

"It's gonna keep coming back, it's coming from underneath.

"Now I'm really starting to get ****** off."

After staff failed to resolve the problem the match was moved to court 13, a much smaller arena, where Roddick came through 6-3 6-4 3-6 6-3.

He will now face Rafael Nadal in the quarter-finals.

Roddick joined Nadal and Andy Murray on Wednesday in paying the tournament referees a visit to discuss being sent out onto wet, slippery courts.
