Spain's Nicolas Almagro has progressed through to round four of the Sony Open in Miami courtesy of a 6-3 6-4 win over David Goffin this afternoon.
Almagro, 27, began the encounter brightly and he managed to produce a string of forehand winners.
It proved to be too much for Goffin, who once he was broken, allowed Almagro to go on and take the first set 6-3.
The second set followed a similar pattern, with Almagro requiring just one break of Goffin's serve to book his place in the last 16 of the tournament.
He will now face Frenchman Richard Gasquet, who overcame the challenge of Mikhail Youzhny earlier today.
